Born in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Qaadir Williams joined The AFP Group and the United Wealth Advisors Group in 2018 after serving his community as a Financial Advisor for Edward Jones Investments. Hailing from Florida A&M University, Qaadir has one primary passion; to help close the wealth gap in our country.
Qaadir spent his career in financial services feeding this passion in two ways, first as a financial advisor but also as the Area Bridge Leader for the largest wealth management force in the country. In this role Qaadir focused on strengthening the diversity in Edward Jones by recruiting, training, and encouraging the promotions of minorities and women in the Houston Metroplex, thus having a multiplier effect on his individual efforts.
After years of working for a major Fortune 400 firm, Qaadir made the decision to join the AFP Group. When asked what inspired such a move Qaadir cited the family values, community involvement, and history of the Baker family and AFP. “But most importantly, the attitude of just putting the client first without all of the (performance) pressures from up top”.
Qaadir was the founding Vice President of the Emerging 100, a subsidiary of the 100 Black Men of Metropolitan Houston, the former Co Chair for the Houston Black Leadership Institute, sits on the board of ISeeMyself, and the Education Coordinator for his local BNI Chapter along with serving in many other volunteer organizations. He currently holds his Series 7, Series 66, Life and Health Certifications, his Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS) and his Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC) designations.
In 2014, Qaadir moved to Houston with his wonderful bride, Chantel, who is also a financial advisor, and in the last five years has moved his mother, aunt, brother, in laws, 5 cousins, 3 nephews, and a niece to Houston. We think it’s safe to say he will be a Houstonian for a while.
